Dead End

My life seems a waste
And all the things I do and say
At the end of the day
Won't matter anyway
You would think by now I would've learned my lesson
Stretched myself so thin
I couldn't gain the weight even if I tried
Maybe if I just close my eyes
Everything will finally turn out fine
Then you'll have to finally realize that my life's a dead end
I'm still not grown I'm just not getting any taller
A generational scapegoat, a tribute to my father
And if what they say is true
That the distance makes your heart grow fonder
What makes you think I could be any stronger
My life seems a waste
And all the things I do and say
At the end of the day
Won't matter anyway
You would think by now I would've learned my lesson
Stretched myself so thin
I couldn't gain the weight even if I tried
Maybe if you just close your eyes
Then you'd have to finally realize that your life's
Always been handed your way
And its sad to see you stuck in your old ways
At this point your the only one to blame
But I'd give it all away
To take your place
Any hope you had of life standing in your way
You would think by now I would've learned my lesson
Stretched myself so thin
I couldn't gain the weight even if I tried
Maybe if I just close my eyes
Things wont feel the same
And all the things I do and say
At the end of day wont
Matter anyway
Cause my life's a dead end

I compiled a list of all the things
That get me through the day
A collection of all the things
You wanted me to say
I just can't seem to get past
Last Tuesday
You say so much with so little now
I'm running back and forwards either way
No matter what you say
It just doesn't feel the same
No matter what you say
We're both better off this way
(We're both better off this way)
No matter what you say
It just doesn't feel the same
We're both better off this way
(We're both better off this way)
How did you spend your time on the outside
Finding out what lies, on the inside
Those same love song cliches
Where I lie to you, everything will be okay
No matter what you say
It just doesn't feel the same
And no matter what you say
We're both better off this way
(We're both better off this way)
No matter what you say
It just doesn't feel the same
We're both better off this way
(We're both better off this way)

Talking to people seems hard
Because I'm scared to see
What you will do
Once you realize that you are sick of me
I don't know how to fall
Without landing on my face
It seems like every time I run
I always take seventh place
We didn't fit quite right
Fought almost every night
I pushed you away from me
That's why you're so quick to leave
And just when I seem to be
Getting used to being alone
You find a way to pick me up
And take me right back home
I don't know how to fall
Without landing on my face
It seems like every time I run
I always take seventh place
Just when I seem to be
Getting used to being alone
You find a way to pick me up
And take me right back home
